Platform 2 Canopy Project.

-

Platform One and its canopy as it is today.

Originally platform 2 had a series of buildings, including offices and waiting rooms. There was a glazed canopy that matched the one on platform 1.  There is an aspiration to reinstate these and recently a planning application has been submitted, by the company. Click here for drawing as submitted (drawing Chris Green), this differs slightly from the original in that the canopies do not overhang the Council's car park.

The workshops have weld repaired some of the spandrels.  The railway now has eleven but needs another five. We think we may have sourced some if they are available!   Provisional start date for re-erection is 20th February 2012.

Volunteers welcome. This project has been deferred until November 2012 at the earliest.

Draft Programme below, hopefully reasonably accurate.
