Bye Laws

The Society's Articles provide for the Council to make such rules or Bye Laws as it may deem necessary for the proper conduct and management of the Society and for the purposes of prescribing classes of and conditions of membership including the rights and privileges of members, the terms on which members may resign or have membership terminated, entrance fees, subscriptions etc.

The members have the power to alter or repeal the rules or Bye Laws and to make additions to them in General Meeting.

1 Membership Categories

 Adult Member:

Person aged 16 or over

 Joint Member:

2 or more adult persons persons living at the same address

 Family Member:

1 or more adults and other persons aged under 16 living at the same address

 Senior Citizen Member:

Person aged 60 or over

 Senior Citizen Couple:

2 adults where Principal Member is aged 60 or over

 Junior/Student Member:

Person aged under 16, or a full time student aged under 22

Life, Premier & Premier +

Adult Membership not subject to renewal and dependent upon category as above.

Note persons under 16 may be included only within Family Life membership until their 16th birthday.

Student categories are not applicable to life or premier category memberships

   
 Principal Member:

This defines the principal person at the address and whose membership card states any of the above membership categories

 Associate Member:

This defines any persons other than the Principal Member holding membership and living at the same address as a Principal Member and whose membership card states Associate.

The Council has the right to waive or amend the criteria for membership in relevant and exceptional circumstances without recourse to the Members. Such changes will not constitute any precedent and each case will be considered individually.
