Brief Outline

D3935 was built in 1961 by BR Horwich and was withdrawn in 1994 as 08 767. It is powered by a English Electric EE6KT which generates 400bhp@ 680 rpm. With a maximum speed of about 15mph, D3935 was a member of the largest class on BR. The class 08 shunter is the largest class of diesel locomotives on British Railways.
