Brief Outline

101 681 was built in 1958 by Metro Cammell and was withdrawn by Network Rail in 2002. It finished work at Longsight depot, Manchester. It was bought by NNR plc and arrived on the NNR on Friday 8th August 2003. It was sourced from Serco at the MoD site at Shoeburyness. It is fitted with two Leyland 6-cylinder 150bhp horizontal engines.

July 2007	No. 1 engine has been replaced together with the gearbox.

2010 Restoration

Welding repairs underway on the trailer car, the lower skin at the ends was extensively corroded as were areas around the windows. The gutters have been deleted as these were a later addition and the unit is to be restored to 1956 early B.R. Green livery with whiskers to the ends.
