Brief Outline Key Facts History

Brief Outline

D5207 was built at Derby in 1963 with the Sulzer Six Cylinder 6LDA28B (1250hp) engine and had a Stones steam generator for steam-heat coaches. It had GEC Series 1 control equipment and like most other BTC Type 2 locos was fitted with blue-star equipment for working in multiple with other similarly equipped locos. These type 2's were a mixed traffic engine, and were seen working in pairs and singularly. It was withdrawn by BR in 1987 as 25 057.
