O.V.S.Bulleid, the Chief .Mechanical Engineer of the Southern Railway from 1937 - 1949 designed the "Light Pacifics", based his earlier streamlined ‘Merchant Navy' class of Pacific.
 110 of these Bulleid 'mixed traffic' Light Pacifics were built, the first entering service in 1945. It was officially withdrawn in 1965.
 34081was ordered by the Southern Railway from Brighton works in 1947. It entered service in September 1948, after the railways were nationalised.

 After over 12 months of inaction, 92 Squadron has returned to service in gleaming new paintwork - British Railways Brunswick green

April 2007

Successful visit to Llangollen. Click here for photo. During the visit the loco undertook a run with eight carriages-the longest train the loco has worked single-handed in preservation.

The regulator stuffing box has been removed and the glands on it rebushed. The steam brake valve has received attention.

Stand by loco for Santa Specials and Mince Pie Specials.

February 2008

Was on standby for half term and replaced 65462 on 16th February.
