0-6-0ST - 1700 Wissington is a Hudswell-Clarke
industrial saddle tank engine, built in 1936. Her working life was spent in and
around the giant British Sugar Corporation factory, on the Wissington Tramway.

Piston rings broken on fitment, so new rings to different
dimensions are being made at Weybourne. No start made on ash pan as yet
although dimensions now with shed |

The front cylinder covers are now refitted along with the
new front buffer beam. Carrying angles and gusset plates are in place.
The running boards have been fitted to both sides of the loco. A
cladding sheet has been cut for the underside of the cylinder block.
The cab and bunker sides and bunker floor have been painted with black
bitumen paint.
Work has started on cleaning the main internal steam pipe that runs from
the firebox through the boiler to the regulator valve in the smokebox. |
