Members' Benefits

As well as being part owners of four steam and two diesel engines and several historic carriages, Society membership entitles one to:-

  • 1/4 rate travel on the North Norfolk Railway *.

  • Premier Adult members are entitled to free travel and Premier+ Adult members are entitled to free travel for the member and one guest.

  • Subscription to JOINT LINE – The Society's fully illustrated and award winning quarterly magazine – bringing you news of what's happening in the Society and on the Railway.  There are also informative articles about the history of the line including a regular contribution from Adrian Vaughan, the noted railway author and historian.

  • From time to time additional benefits may be offered from time to time and will be  published in Joint Line or otherwise notified to the members.

Additionally, as a member you  have the satisfaction of knowing you are helping to preserve some of the most precious railway items in the country.

Many members (and others) join one of the Special Interest Clubs giving the opportunity to support the restoration and maintenance of particular locomotives or carriages in the Society's care.

*Society members can travel on the Railway for 25% of the normal rate fare. This generous discount applies only to all day hop-on, hop-off Rover tickets for adults, senior citizens and children aged 5 – 15 years (children under 5 are free). It does not apply to family Rover tickets or to single or part-journey tickets, or to any dining train. The discount is available throughout the year, except at Steam Galas, ‘40s Weekend, Day out with Thomas, Santa and Mince Pie Specials and other special events advertised in timetable leaflets or so nominated by North Norfolk Railway plc. The Society may from time to time negotiate one-off special events discounts: members will be advised in advance. The reduced fare benefit cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounted, promotional or special fare.
