 Title: Drummond Locomotives

Some of the most country's most stylish locomotives were designed by the Drummond brothers. their engines could be found at one stage of British steam history could be found far afield virtually at Lands End to John O'Groats. The book follows the usual format for this series, a readable reference book with many photographs and line drawings.

Title: Working at Swindon Works 1930 -1960

The 1930s to the 1950s was the greatest period in the Works' long history. The book puts the GWR's output in to perspective and records the means by which it was achieved from the viewpoint of both the workers  and the company. Many of the 100 photographs are previously unpublished and provide a fascinating record  of industrial working life in this remarkable place.

Title: The Last days of Steam on the Eastern Region

In his book the author uses a memorable selection of photographs to tell the sad storey of the last days of steam power on the Eastern Region. His pictures show that while steam locomotives weren't finally withdrawn from the Eastern Region until the mid 1960s, the 1950s were their swan song. In those days steam dominated and the few diesels hat were in service were mostly designed for shunting duties.

In this pictorial survey of the minor lines of the Great Western Railway and its successor  the Western Region  The author has brought the full flavour of the Great Western system. Not all Western Region lines have been shown but the more interesting ones have been explored in detail. The period covered , 1955 - 1965, covers the inception of the modernization plan, through to the beginning of the Beeching era.

 The author recaptures the spirit and flavour of the Midland Railway Company line in  times one by. He reflects on the effect on the countryside as the new railway forged a route through largely un touched area of land, and the changes which it brought to those quiet market towns and the villages that it passed through,  and records the difficulties it had to face before the construction of its own  magnificent Gothic Terminus at St. Pancras.
